Gabriela Frigerio

Registered Social Worker-Psychotherapist.
I completed my master’s in social work at the University of Windsor in Ontario. I am a Registered Social Worker-Psychotherapist, a member of the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW), and a general member of the Ontario Association of Social Workers (OASW).

I believe in a holistic approach to treatment where the focus is on improving the quality of life of the individual and returning to enhanced functioning and overall well-being. My approach to therapy is from an eclectic lens and client-centred, stemming from a compassionate, trauma-informed, anti-oppressive, strengths-based approach.

My clinical work involves evidence-based treatment modalities such as Psychoanalysis, Cognitive-Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Dialectical-Behaviour Therapy (DBT), and Mindfulness. I have worked for over 20 years providing mental health services to children, youth, and adults, presenting a variety of challenges, including anxiety, post-traumatic stress (PTSD), depression, and trauma. Furthermore, I have extensive experience working with children and adolescents who have experienced child abuse and neglect, as well as victims of motor vehicle accidents (MVA) and work-related accidents (WSIB).

From an empathic and non-judgemental stance, I aim to support clients and meet them where they are while working collaboratively to develop effective treatment plans that enhance resiliency and enable them to achieve their goals.

Outside work, I enjoy reading, walking outdoors, yoga, and spending time with family and friends.

I offer my therapeutic support in English & Spanish.
